A special visit to the Prints and Drawings Department today at the British Museum, London
The opening of my reception, "Intimidades: Dibujos en Oro y Plata", was a very well-attended event, with the Fundación Barceló reporting very favourable comments about the art.
My large silverpoint exhibition, “Intimidades: Dibujos en Oro y Plata” at the Fundación Barceló, Palma de Mallorca, has taken a long time to prepare, mainly during the different artist residencies I have had in France and Portugal in past months. The opening reception will be on 14th September; the gallery will also be open during the big art festival in Palma, the Nit de l’Art, in mid-September.
My metalpoint, "The Lace of Fragility: Lemon Leaves", will be on display at the Pro Arte y Cultura Group Exhibition, at the Castillo de Son Mas, Andraitx, Mallorca, from Friday, May 19th until the exhibiiton closes on 26th May, 2017.
Jeannine Cook and Jeffrey Lewis, two long-term artist colleagues and friends, exhibit their silverpoint drawings, quiet lustrous voices that counter-act today's shrill discourse in the public arena.
"Argentum", an exhibition featuring the work of over twenty silverpoint artists from across the United States. Curated by Lauren Amalia Redding.

Talking to guests at inauguration of "Pensando en Miró: Drawings in Silver" exhibition, Deia, Mallorca
Reception and Artist Talk at 19:30 on 31 March 2017
This body of work, Pensando en Miró, is my “poem” celebrating Miró, Mallorca and what Joan Miró himself referred to as “the eloquence of silence”, expressed – this time – in shimmering silver lines.
The work will be shown at the Sa Tafona Gallery at the beautiful La Residencia Hotel in Deia, Mallorca, beneath the incredible mountain heights on one side, to sweeping sea views on the other. I have been working with silverpoints based on alabaster windows and paving stones at the Miro Foundation in Palma de Mallorca, and am using them as a platform to integrate colour inspiredby Miro's wonderful work.
Exhibition: 2017 “Objectified: Still Lifes from the Permanent Collection”, Telfair Museums, Savannah, GA
One of my drawings, "Garlic Discussion I & II", which is held in the Telfair Museum's Permanent Collection, is included in this astutely curated show.
Objectified considers the traditional genre of still life as represented in the works of Telfair Museums’ permanent collection. Presenting still lifes from the late 19th century through the present day, this exhibition invites viewers to consider the genre as a form ripe for artistic exploration.

Art, wine-tasting and a celebration of the season at historic Ashantilly Center.
I was honoured with inclusion in the “National Silverpoint Invitational 2015” exhibition hosted at Little Rock, AK by Hearn Fine Art and Greg Thompson Fine Art. Dr. Ann Wagner, Curator of Drawing at the Arkansas Arts Center, gave a gallery talk on silverpoint during the exhibition. Fellow artist, Marjorie Williams-Smith very kindly sent me photographs of the drawings displayed in the two art galleries.
This Little Rock show was part of the celebration in 2015 to mark a magical historical metalpoint show entitled “Drawing in Silver and Gold: From Leonardo to Jasper Johns”. This exhibition, combining collections from both museums, was at the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC and later opened at the British Museum on September 10th until early December. I am very thrilled to be mentioned in the extraordinarily beautiful catalogue as being one of three North American artists who have been promoting this medium.
In 2015, the Women’s Caucus for Arts Georgia was invited to exhibit at Lyndon House Arts Center during their 40th year celebration. Not only was I part of the exhibition, but I was delighted to find that my graphite drawing, Time Woven II, was used for the poster and invitation. Opening reception and Artist Talks were on September 10, 2014. It was apparently a hugely successful show.
February-March, 2014 saw me going to OBRAS Portugal, near Evoramonte, east of Lisbon, for an art residency. It was beautiful, green, peaceful, creative and productive, with seven artists in total of different disciplines, all working hard and sharing ideas and energies. It was wonderful and I hope to return at some future date.
