During my time as Artist in Residence at Les Amis de la Grande Vigne, I learned that early mornings in October are magical along the mighty Rance Valley north of Dinan. Every small village is dominated by its slate-clad church spire, and it seemed that these spires were beacons for the flocks of sea birds flying inland from the sea.
