The brilliant pink flowers of the Zephryanthes or rain lilies have always seemed a miracle. In Tanzania, coastal Georgia or in Spain, these flowers suddenly emerge and burst into radiance out of nowhere when rain comes to resuscitate them. Their seed pods are equally sculptural and delighted me as they slowly matured.
