During my stay as Artist in Residence at Les Amis de la Grande Vigne, Dinan, France, I often explored along the many coastal bays and inlets facing the English Channel. With the huge differential in high and low tides, the area is filled with wonderful boats than can lie beached on their sides at low tide. People walk the beaches and rocks at low tide to harvest periwinkles and other seafood, while many more work at harvesting the wonderful oysters, clams and mussels that are so famous in Brittany. |
