June along the St. Lawrence Seaway in Ontario is a truly wonderful time, with spring at its full and verdant ebullience. I was fascinated by the symphony of small granite islands that dotted the river (no wonder the area is called the Thousand Islands), the variety of trees and the foreground frieze of bulrushes and iris.
