A Day at Manassas Bog

One sunny May morning, a group of us met under the auspices of Coastal Wildscapes to explore Manassas Bog, near Bellville, Georgia. At first sight, it was a nondescript area along a power line right-of-way. As so often, however, a closer look revealed many treasures – endangered plants, magical seed heads, pockets of beauty and tenacity. Everyone else took photographs, while I gathered dried flowers, seeds and branches.
This is one of the silverpoint drawings I later did with the material I had gathered. |
