Givhans Ferry Beech

Early March had not yet come to this mighty beech tree in Givhans Ferry State Park, where I was Artist in Residence.  The tree was near my cabin and I kept watching the light change its shape, day by day.  Finally, I took some cream Stonehenge paper, a paper on which I love to draw, and tried to convey its majesty and complexity.
