This drawing is the final one in a series I did, based on a composition for string quartet by the Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho. The music evokes "those departed" and remembered in evolving fashion by the people remaining. My drawings address evolution in the world between reality and abstraction. In this drawing, I used the raven as an evocation of death, yet part of the cycle of life and the lightness of being.
